The knight stopped, bowed his head, as if listening to the world around him. There were rocks and stone around. And even the darkness is not coal-black darkness, which is deep underground, but something between twilight and night. The piercing wind sharply changed direction and evil pushed evil into his face, then in the back. He pulled rare and skinny bushes, flowed out boulders, climbed into narrow cracks and buzzed in them, as angry bees buzzed, only a hundred -sneak. The wind seemed to find out about the violator who had been around the barriers he had expelled, and now he rapped up, roared, jammed other sounds. He was unhappy, and the knight went on, never finding a common language with him.

He brought the path to the cave. In general, she was no different from the fact that the knight had seen earlier-all the same stones and rocks, except that a ceiling with hanging stalactites appeared on top, large enough, with sharp, predatory glancing ends. In principle, there was no need to kill-it’s easier to jump or bypass, but, firstly, it was necessary to test the weapon, and secondly … no, the knight did not receive any special, sophisticated, pleasure from the death of the beetle, but there was no rejection either. The beetle lived, the beetle died – and it seemed completely normal. The unknown goal is the very debt – it is hardly possible to attribute to a peaceful occupation, and since the memory refused, it is worth training a little, recall skills and be prepared for any surprise. For example, to a strange feeling that something invisible flew out of the beetle’s carcass, entered the knight – and he became a little more complete inside, as if water was poured into an empty vessel. In some distance, ahead, lights lit up. When the knight approached them, he saw a tall arch in a stone slab. The surface of the stove was decorated with semicircular lines, and the enormous silhouette of the beetle was located in the center. The stone was not continuous: it cracked, in some places there were no whole pieces, and a warm yellowish-pink light penetrated through these holes.

Having carefully examined the barrier, the knight found a place that looked the weaker, waved a nail and stuck it into a narrow gap. He pulled abruptly, turning the brush, and jumped to the side, not wanting to be under the wreckage. The stove resisted. The knight repeated the action – and the gap has expanded, small pebbles flew out of it. After a dozen pumpkins and blows, the silhouette of the bug crossed out a crack, after it another – and the stove collapsed, raising a cloud of dust. Sang cool and fresh air. The draft instantly took the dust, and the knight, passing through a pile of stones, was on a man -made concent. A flat, rubberized floor, openwork railing-once it was a bridge, but now a miserable stub of it remains of it. What destroyed him? How far he led: go ahead, in a hidden darkness, a distant point, or down to burning lights? The knight came closer to the edge and looked at the bright spot under his feet. Definitely the city. The line of lights located at equal distance from each other was led to him, in pairs, and inside the bright spot they were divided into separate groups-somewhere chaotic, somewhere according to the system, somewhere they did not burn at all. It only remained to go down, and perhaps there will be those who could explain what happened here and where did he. As the knight expected, the paired lights turned out to be lanterns. They stretched to the road with cones of light, driving away darkness and luring night butterflies with translucent wings. Insects drove restlessly around the lamps, fought about them, trying to penetrate the glass, suffered failure, but they did not throw attempts. Some purposeful hopelessness was felt in their movement. They seemed to understand that everything was in vain, that they wouldn’t succeed, but they could not otherwise. Probably, they also had a goal and duty, and they followed them, despite the irresistible obstacles.

Without leaving the road and following one lamppost to another, like on bread crumbs, the knight reached the city. Empty streets were well illuminated, but the windows of the houses remained dark, the doors were closed, and in some places they were completely boarded up. The city looked abandoned. Of course, the night is not the most lively time, but it was precisely that it was the fact that the desolation reigned. The wind drove dry leaves, the whitish clouds of either fog, or dust, glided between the houses – and all this is almost in silence. Neither chirping, no hovering, no hiss, no clicks, no creaks – nor a single sound of those that are usually found near the housing. Under one of the lanterns, in a circle of light, stood an iron bench, and next to it – the one who met a knight. The city was called Gryazmut. The elder who meets, was the main and only resident. The rest went down. As it turned out, a whole kingdom – Halloonest spread under the mud. It, like the city, was abandoned, but for another reason: trouble came to the kingdom, some of the inhabitants managed to escape, and the remaining … Talking about their fate, the elder only sighed woefully and shook his head. Everything happened in a gloom, and therefore there were many forgotten valuable things, artifacts and, of course, gears. Some residents of Gryazmut descended into the depths of valuable things;Others, despising material wealth, were looking for fame;Scientific interest moved the third: they studied, recorded and cataloged what was left of the kingdom. Some of them returned, but someone-no. We fell from cliffs, lost in winding and narrow strokes, died from the clutches of wild beetles, went missing. The result is one: the city is empty. The elder was sure that some Gryazmutovites were still alive, but when they return and would return at all, he did not know. He just waited, hoped and therefore greatly rejoiced at the unexpected guest, the first in many days with whom you could talk. The knight listened, tried to understand and figure it out, and when the elder, not knowing the name, called him a knight, silently nodded in agreement. The knight is so a knight. At least his first guess was true – he really looked like a knight.

After hearing the elder, he wandered around the city, looked around. A plate hung on the doors of one house, warning about the imminent opening of a cards store and related goods. The other, standing on the outskirts, was different from the rest-the knight felt someone else’s presence. He pulled the door a few times, but did not particularly push: if someone wants to live as a hermit, not showing up to anyone, including the elder, this is his right. He will not insist. Well, since there is no one to shed light on its origin and incomprehensible duty in Gryazmut, it means that you need to go down to Hallowest and find someone from the departed inhabitants. Perhaps they know more. The entrance to the kingdom was located a little away from residential buildings: a man -made hole in the ground, a vertical mountainous production surrounded by a fence;the walls are lined with stone;A thick chain goes down, it is located exactly in the center of production. Understanding the main storyline is easy to delve into all the details and nuances is more difficult, since there are a lot of them, and there are several forces, and you will not work to go through them for one passage.

For a long time, beetles worshiped radiation, the deity of the light, and in its blinding rays lived a collective consciousness. And then the pale king came from the genus of the worms, ancient creatures, extinct, as it was believed, long before the appearance of a hallone. The king was reasonable and wanted the same from future subjects. With his help, beetles abandoned collective consciousness and gained their own. Caring for the well -being of the inhabitants of the Hallonet, the pale king developed science, technology – and trams, elevators, tunnels of horns appeared in the kingdom, and the beetles studied and developed. Soon, the moths, a tribe whose ancestor was radiant, joined him. The half -forgotten deity, from which even the most faithful subjects turned away, the flesh of his flesh, did not want to put up with the current state of affairs – and the period of confrontation between radiation and the pale king came: the plague came to Hallowest.

History is silent about the reasons for his act. Cormatographer Corner’s beetle honestly warned that he knew about the path, but he would take it after studying the forgotten overwhelming. In one of the caves attracted with even outlines and a shelter sign, there was a station cut down directly in the rocky breed. Lanterns burned there, the ceiling supported the ceiling – obviously for the sake of beauty – the columns, the floor laid out with the plates, flowed into the platform and ended with a fence in the form of railing with twisted balusters, a bench for waiting and resting was an exact copy of the one in Gryazmut. The fence in both directions stretched a tunnel. A machine for receiving ge, a bronze box darkened from time to time on a pointed column, worked-it was necessary to throw coins in a narrow slot with rounded edges. A thin soft ringing filled the station, went into the depths of the tunnel. Before he could quietly subside, as a new sound appeared – the clatter of six strong joint paws. A gigantic beetle ran to the platform. His head was tilted forward, the tip of the horns gleamed in the light of the lamps, the gray mustache puffed up, on his back he carried the structure of a metal frame covered with fabric – it was held by wide belts stretched under his belly, and two armchairs and a bag for things were attached to it to it. So the knight met a horn. This strong hard worker, along with relatives, drove passengers along the hallone with short roads. When the kingdom fell apart, there was no one to carry and the remaining horned roots scattered. For some time they maintained a connection with each other, and then a thin thread broke off. Rogach did not receive news from relatives for a long time and seriously thought that he was the last.

He was old, sat down, but as soon as he found out that his work was needed again, inspired, as if swallowed water from the fountain of youth. Alas, the vigor of the spirit did not affect the memory: over the years that have passed in the forced idleness, he completely forgot the location of the stations and the road to them. However, he assured that his hearing was excellent and the ringing of the bell he would hear, no matter what part of the kingdom was … The knight carefully turned the parchment clinging from the lines and badges, hid it. Carefully went deep into the green thickets, waiting for a trick from any side. He managed to make sure that the Ruins of the Hallonete were not a place for careless walks, and, probably, the further he will move, the more often he will meet wild beetles with a bright orange flame in the eye sockets. Residents who returned to Gryazmut told different things, but with the fact that someone was seized by Zhukov’s mind, he controlled them, agreed unanimously. The unknown puppeteer generously gave the novices by force, speed, contempt for death – but was such a reward commensurate? The answer to this question was not given to the knight in any way, flashed in his head with fragments of thoughts, slipped away, as soon as he concentrated on him. He found out too little. Corner, Izelda, Sly, Rogach – they all helped as much as possible, but did not possess full information, and the knight continued to guess who he was and what he was doing in the hallobeuste. Against the backdrop of the revival, to which he himself contributed, the knight felt like a restless soul without a corner. And it meant exactly the same as before – the search continues.

In the Kingdom of Hallowest there was a place for lifeless flatters, a green forest, the gloomy pits with spiders, caves and lakes. There is even a full -fledged city, with stone houses, elevators, glazed windows and discharged court. Levels smoothly flow one into another, are connected by several transitions – in accordance with the genre, the part is open immediately, to overcome others you need to either bypass them and open them from the opposite side, or get the ability and with its help climb a high wall, swim along the acid lake, break through the floor, pusie up to the platform.
At first, in every new level you have to wander blindly, without a card. Exceptions are found, so that if they did not die in the first clash, you have to go almost longer than fighting with them.
The structure of levels is complicated gradually. At first these are even roads and small jumps to steps and platforms, then ruptures appear in the roads, the number of platforms increases, their location changes, and the further, the more time the knight spends in the air. It comes to the point that one of the locations is completely devoted to jumps, dotted with spikes and saws. You will have to jump over them, under them, between them, and also try not to fall, since the floor underfoot will not always be.

As soon as the ceiling began to rise, and the walls-to disperse to the sides, something flooded, and the knight, turning around, saw how black glossy ribbons rushed from all sides, intertwined into two scores, closing the passage. The trap slammed shut. The knight swung, hit obliquely. The nail entered the barrier hard, tied up, without causing significant damage – the cut tapes immediately stirred, as if alive, tightened the gap. There were no traces or scars left. It seems that the issue with the return of resolved and will have to go the same way. The copy stood on a small elevation. She jerked, long, covered with sharp growths and short black hair of her paw, fell out of it, an orange belly fell out, and then she abruptly, without delay and greeting, as they did in an honest battle, attacked. The creature lived alone. Except her, in the lair there was only a pile of dried corpses. Dead bodies, dead – and such important! Their presence unequivocally indicated that the knight was not alone, at least not before. His comrades or associates traveled around the halloens and did … what? They could protect, study, collect, hunt, observe, monitor – there are many options. Is it possible that this somehow applied to the knight and his duty? Definitely, the study of the den was a notive. A new food has appeared for thought, as well as with its faithful companions – questions, you have to understand, and this is much better than not to have any information at all. Not without replenishment of the material reserve: a tiny cache with a rare stone was discovered behind the false wall, it is not known why preserved creature. The knight put the stone by the bosom, went to the exit. Black ribbons disappeared, the path was open. There was a real trifle – among the interweaving of the moves to find the only one that will bring home and not get on the way to a new trap.

There are more than one and a half hundred opponents in the game, among them there are doubles and older brothers – like, for example, small and large fleas, which differ in size and only a little – behavior – but mostly the differences between them are stronger. This applies to appearance and attacks (and someone does not attack at all-frolic or even runs away). You can hunt wild beetles, not only satisfying bloodthirstiness, but also a hunter instinct. At the first death of a particular enemy, a note is added to a special magazine: an image, a short main description and additional information, which is first closed and will open after the murder of a number of the same enemies-from one for bosses to two or three dozen beetles for ordinary beetles. Getting complete information, with rare exceptions, occurs by itself, and difficulties can arise only in case of purposeful avoidance of battles.
The difference between the bosses is more obvious: in addition to appearance and behavior, they allocated individual locations, musical accompaniment, some have characters – in dialogs and actions. And at the same time, they can see one common feature – in a battle with them you can not give in greed. In the realities of the game, this means that in the “Paul Knight” there are practically no bosses that can be found by surprise, pressing, stunning on a onslaught – and win. At best, they will lose a third of health, while the knight will lose everything. There are, of course, those who throw their paws, but there are few of them, and they can only be crushed after pumping weapons and equipment with amulets that do not fall from the sky, but lie in distant, inaccessible corners. The majority requires a careful handling, leisurely: wait a moment – hit – wait a moment – to hit – … in other words, act by tactics.

One of the most serious opponents that a knight may encounter is called a powerful zoom. Without going up above the details that reveal the plot lines, it remains only to note that the opponents are not limited to wordless creatures. There is a place for everyone here: both reasonable, and those who act not of their own free will, and irreconcilable enemies, and those who eventually become a friend will help the word and deed.
Non -game characters (immediately configured to the knight positively or neutrally) are found throughout the way. They scattered around the kingdom, and it is sometimes difficult to find them as artifacts. Some return to Gryazmut, others remain in their places, others wander around the world in parallel with the knight. Each character can find out a piece of history, and not all answers are open immediately.
